Chapter 2: Wonderful Things
I am fascinated by the moment of discovery. Whether it is an archaeologist discovering a new site or an infant discovering their toes, there is that moment of realization. You can see the wheels turning in their heads, trying to process what they just discovered. When archaeologist, Howard Carter, was asked if he could see anything when he first peered into King Tutankhamen’s tomb he answered, “Yes, wonderful things.” This piece is about that moment, she is pulling herself from one reality into the next and from one dimension into another.
