About

Kate works in the stippling technique which uses dots to create an image. Stippling is similar to pointillism but without color and dates all the way back to the late 1400s. This has earned her the nick name "Dot Girl."

Kate has placed in the Top 25 in both the 2D & 3D categories in ArtPrize, which is the world’s largest art competition.

Ripley's Believe it or Not purchased her piece, True Love, making it an international sensation over night. Edward Myer from Ripley’s was quoted saying,

“In terms of technical skill it is one of the most amazing pieces of art I have ever acquired.”

PBS also featured her work and life on the TV series, Artists in Profile. Before this Kate worked mostly in sculpture, she received her BFA in Sculpture in 2002 from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.

Her artistic influences range from Egyptian and Greco-Roman art to Edward Gorey and Ansel Adams. She has lived abroad and has displayed her work in Chicago, New York, Ireland, Baltimore, Panama City, Milan, and Grand Rapids. She currently resides in Dixon, IL with her husband and 2 children.

Outside of art Kate enjoys homeschooling her son, scuba diving, and studying archeology. She believes that her artistic ability is a gift from God and she plans to keep using her gift to inspire others.

Art is an amazing medium that can transcend language and time.
